"NTZMK" manufactured metal structures for a key facility of the federal project "Clean Air"

"Nizhny Tagil Plant of Metal Structures" (part of the industrial Group "NEK") completed the manufacture and shipment of metal structures for the construction of the exhaust tower of "EVRAZ ZSMK" in Novokuznetsk. This structure is part of the new sulfur and gas purification complex and is of crucial importance for the implementation of activities included in the federal project "Clean Air" of the national project "Ecology".

The exhaust tower is designed for the effective removal of purified flue gases. After passing through a modern system of absorption processes that absorb sulfur compounds, the gases are released into the atmosphere through this high-rise structure. The implementation of the project will significantly reduce the impact on the environment: gross emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced by more than 20%, and sulfur dioxide emissions - by 70%.

NTZMK acted as a key supplier of metal structures for the construction of a 150-meter-high exhaust tower. The total volume of manufactured metal structures was 2,013 tons, the painted surface area was 28,066 square meters.

The production process required the highest precision. The tower frame is a spatial braced rod lattice tetrahedral metal structure of variable cross-section and consists of 14 tiers.

Particular attention was paid to the technology of assembling the tower chords. It provided for the sequential connection of higher structures to lower ones. Each adjacent chord underwent individual control assembly at the plant with careful adjustment of all units. This method made it possible to reduce overall deviations to an absolute minimum.

The design solutions used in the creation of the tower had not previously been used in Russia on such a scale. They provide not only strength, but also exceptional seismic stability of the structure. The tower is capable of withstanding an earthquake of up to 8 points.

"Participation in the exhaust tower construction project has confirmed our unique competencies in the production of complex metal structures for industrial and environmental infrastructure facilities," noted Evgeny Ivlev, CEO of NTZMK LLC.

The Novokuznetsk exhaust tower project is an example of the successful implementation of modern technologies and solutions within the framework of national environmental programs, in which NTZMK has taken a worthy place as a reliable and high-tech partner.
