"Unitel Engineering" has successfully completed the supervision of equipment commissioning at the 500 kV Khabarovskaya substation and the Bureyskaya hydroelectric power station as part of the Nergen project.

“It is gratifying that Unitel Engineering is actively participating in the import substitution program, supplying high-tech equipment to such significant facilities for the development of our country,” noted project manager Inna Zakharia.

The Nergen 500 kV switching point will become a key element in the power supply of the Malmyzh copper deposit development facilities, one of the largest in Russia. A special feature of the project is the complete import substitution of equipment, whereas previously similar facilities used mainly imported equipment.

To integrate the facility into the Unified National Electric Grid, the 500 kV Khabarovskaya-Komsomolskaya high-voltage line is being reconstructed.

The Malmyzh deposit was discovered in 2006. Its reserves were estimated at 2.4 billion tons of ore (including 8.3 million tons of copper, 347 tons of gold and more than 1.6 thousand tons of silver). Currently, a plant is being built there, which will annually produce about 250 thousand tons of copper in concentrate.
